HEAD OF THE SPACE RADIO-DIAGNOSTICS RESEARCH CENTRE UNIVERSITY OF WARMIA AND MAZURY IN OLSZTYN announces an open competition for the position of Assistant Professor (research staff group) at the Space Radio-Diagnostics Research Centre.

HEAD OF THE SPACE RADIO-DIAGNOSTICS RESEARCH CENTRE UNIVERSITY OF WARMIA AND MAZURY IN OLSZTYN announces an open competition for the position of Assistant Professor (research staff group) at the Space Radio-Diagnostics Research Centre

The competition is open to a person who meets the requirements set out in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – The Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2021, item 478, as amended) and the following qualification criteria: 

  • holds the degree of doctor (PhD) in the scientific discipline of astronomy or physics, or an equivalent degree;

And:

  • has a record of scientific achievements focused on the study of natural, extra-terrestrial sources of radio emission, based on multi-frequency interferometric radio observations;
  • has a documented publication record in journals indexed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) in the above research area;
  • has a good command of English.

  • Certified copy of the PhD diploma.
  • Other documents confirming qualifications (diplomas, certificates, attestations, etc.).
  • Written opinion from the doctoral supervisor or the immediate superior from the most recent place of employment.
  • Written report on the candidate’s to-date scientific-research and organisational activity.
  • A prospectus of research interests and plans (research, publication and organisational plans) for a period of at least three years – the outline should not exceed 2 A4 pages.
  • Candidate’s declaration of meeting the requirements for the employment of academic teachers (Annex No. 4 to the Statute of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Table 1a): https://bip.uwm.edu.pl/menu/statut-uwm/#701.
  • Statement that the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn will be the primary place of employment within the meaning of Article 120 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – The Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2021, item 478, as amended).
  • Declaration of submitting the statement referred to in the Act of 20 July 2018 – The Law on Higher Education and Science on the assignment to a scientific discipline: Information and Communication Technology.
  • Statement on health condition allowing the performance of duties in the position of an academic teacher.
  • Consent to the processing of personal data.

  • The competition result will be announced within 30 days of the deadline for submitting documents.
  • The competition procedure provides for a presentation by the Candidate to the Competition Committee of the achievements and plans referred to in items 7 and 8 above. Candidates will be informed by e-mail of the date of the Committee meeting.
  • The period of employment in the position of Assistant Professor is intended to be 12 months.
  • The gross monthly remuneration for the position of Assistant Professor is PLN 6,841.00.
  • The University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn will be the primary place of employment within the meaning of the Law on Higher Education and Science.
  • The University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn reserves the right to invalidate the competition by decision of the Rector without stating reasons at any stage of the procedure.
  • The competition is single-stage.
  • Failure to inform a candidate of the competition result shall be tantamount to rejection of their application.
  • All documents must be signed by the Candidate.
